Draft Minutes for the May 2, 2006 Meeting

Location: Yamashiro Restaurant, Conference Room.

1. A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

2. The minutes for the April 11 meeting were approved by unanimous voice vote.

3. An overview over the proposed changes to the Hollywood Community Plan was given, specifically concerning the area along Highland and Franklin Ave. This led to a lively, hour-long discussion. Opposition to overdevelopment and the resulting decline in the quality of life was strong and unanimous (traffic gridlock, overtaxing of infrastructure, loss of views etc.). Various means were proposed in which citizens can take action. No motion was passed because the HHWNC has already passed a motion in opposition to the upzoning of Highland and Franklin.

8. As there was no public comment and no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
