Meeting Minutes: Monday, March 8, 2004

Members Present: Jeff Rouze, Chair, Steve Tronson, John Ehretz, Colleen Wharton, and Paul Ramsey.

Location: Toluca Lake Sports and Tennis club, Second Floor Conference Room

A quorum being present, Chair Jeffrey Rouze, called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.

Minutes: There were no minutes to review.

Discussion of proposed City Ordinance that would prohibit ‘Super-sized Stores’ from opening in the City of Los Angeles:

The committee held a very boisterous discussion of this issue of department store and grocery store combinations being developed within the City limits. It was agreed that the larger stores do drive smaller businesses to close their operations, merger their operations, of shrink in size when faced with the ‘super=sized stores’. The Committee decided to vote to support the proposed ordinance with a vote. The vote was 3-0-1 to support the ordinance.

New Business: There was no new business.

General Comments: There were no general comments.

Future Meetings: It was agreed to meet on the second Monday of the month at the Toluca Lake Sports and Tennis Club at 6:30 p.m.

Public Comment: There was no public comment today.

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
